This is a piece I have been avoiding uploading for far too long - honestly, it was finished in October of 2014. It was one of the very first commissions I have ever done, and, at least for me, one of the coolest scientific pieces I have ever made. It is a great big poster documenting the distribution and habits of the currently known and recognised Killer whale ecotypes, plus some other distinct populations. Consider it the wordier and less Killer whale-rich companion to Uko Gorter's magnificent Killer whale ecotype illustrations poster: swfsc.noaa.gov/uploadedImages/…
I have uploaded this at a large size so you can read all the text. You'll have to open the image full view to do so, though. Left and right is info on all the featured populations, with some other trivia accompanied by little illustrations in the cornerpieces of the map itself. Down below are all the references (yes, I did a lot of reading for this piece!).
Overall I am just so happy with and proud of this. I am certain there are mistakes in here, populations that I thought were separate turning out to be one, or ranges being bigger or smaller than I have depicted them here. But I'm okay with that - I knew from the start it would not be perfect. Also, this is not supposed to portray every single orca population. I only chose the best known, most studied ones that received attention at the time. I'm just content with the fact it was finished and looks good as a whole, and if any mistakes turn out to be huge I can always change them. Also, I managed to make the Antarctic distributions somewhat clear, and you would not believe the headache that region gave me!
I really hope you guys enjoy this piece, maybe learn something new along the way as well, and if you read any mistakes don't hesitate to tell me!

How can I expand the poster a bit more on my computer. DA won't let me expand it so I can actually read it
